Shocking Pornography Statistics

Here are some of the shocking pornography statistics I uncovered while preparing for our message on Porn in the Pornography Series.  Pornography is too big of a problem for the church to ignore.  Feel free to share these with friends, family, and other churches. 

25% -  of all search engine requests are pornography related - Internet Pornography Statistics: 2003, David C. Bissette, Psy.D.  www.healthymind.com, 2004.

86% - of men are likely to click on Internet sex sites if given the opportunity. Survey published in the Journal of the American Psychological Association.

11 Years Old - The average age of first Internet exposure to pornography. - Internet Filter Review, 2004.

12-17 Years Old - the largest group of viewers of Internet porn. According to research from Family Safe Media,

96% - of teens interviewed had Internet access. According to an anonymous survey published in the Journal of Adolescent Health in August 2009.

55.4%- of teens reported that they had visited a sexually explicit website. According to an anonymous survey published in the Journal of Adolescent Health in August 2009.

68% - of the divorces involved one party meeting a new lover over the Internet. - press release from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (divorce lawyers) reported that the most salient factors present in divorce cases.
