A Chapter a Day Keeps the Devil Away!

We are going through a unique season as a church where we are asking you to stretch yourself outside of your comfort zone to go all in with God.  One of the ways we are challenging you to do that is through being more than just a Sunday Christian and giving God every day of your life.

I have found a great way to do that is to devote the first part of every day to spending time with him in meditating on his word (The Bible) and talking with him in prayer.  Nothing else has blessed my life more than this daily time with God.  It focuses me, encourages me, give me wisdom and spiritual nourishment, but most importantly grows me in my love for Jesus!

Listen to the words of Psalm 1:1-3. "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers."

One of the goals of our All In campaign is to help our church family experience the blessed life that is available through giving God your everyday and meditating on his word.  At The Point Church we use a method of meditating of Scripture called S.O.A.P. which is an acronym for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer.

I want to help give you an example of how to do this!  Over the next 13 days I will be posting my personal meditations (SOAPs) on the thirteen chapters of Nehemiah!  I pray they help inspire you to go all in giving God everyday of your week! In your Nehemiah Series Guide there is a place for you to join along in meditating on each chapter of Nehemiah and if you don't have one you can pick one up this Sunday morning or just grab a piece of paper and start writing!

During this season will you join me in taking the time to read and meditate on a chapter of the book of Nehemiah everyday?!  I don't really believe it will keep the devil away but it will certainly help you to live a life of blessing that will make him mad!
