Nehemiah 1 - SOAP Meditation

I mentioned yesterday that I was going to be posting my daily meditations from the book of Nehemiah each day.  While I do hope you gain some personal insight on God's Word through my journal entries my ultimate prayer is that you would be inspired to read and meditate on each chapter of the book of Nehemiah yourself!  I pray meditating on God's Word becomes an essential part of the life of every person at The Point Church! (Psalm 1:1-3).  Below is my SOAP meditation from the first chapter of the book of Nehemiah.

S "When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of Heaven."  Nehemiah 1:4

O Nehemiah was so upset by what he heard about his homeland that he went without food (fasted) so he could totally devote himself to praying for God to help his people.

A I feel like our city is in spiritual ruin. I want to have a broken heart like Nehemiah and beg God to help people in our city to know Jesus. I need to be fasting and praying for revival.

P Father, break my heart for our city. Lead me to a place where I am crying out for you to heal the Triangle and bring thousands of people to know you! In Jesus name. Amen.
