Nehemiah 6 - SOAP Meditation

Tomorrow is Halloween...a time when things get a little SCAAAARY around the Triangle.  Nehemiah 6 begins with a frightening moment for the people of God but ends in a triumphant victory!  In the same way we are attempting to do something as a church that seems overwhelming and frightening but we will see God do miracles if we continue to give ourselves completely to God and do not give up!

My prayer in posting this is for you to be inspired to read and meditate on each chapter of the book of Nehemiah yourself!  I pray meditating on God's Word becomes an essential part of the life of every person at The Point Church! (Psalm 1:1-3).  Below is my SOAP meditation from the sixth chapter of the book of Nehemiah

S "They were trying to frighten us. Thinking their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed. But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.” Vs. 9

O Opposition increased as the work progressed. Satan was trying to do everything he could to discredit and discourage Nehemiah and ultimately God’s people and God’s leader. Therefore, Nehemiah prayed for God to strengthen his hands.

A I feel like we have faced opposition from city officials, delays in plans, overwhelming busyness, lack of funds, and internal conflicts. Every day I must rally strength from God in order to keep going forward in faith knowing that he has and will ALWAYS come through!  When I am weak he is strong.

P Father I feel weak and burdened at times during this journey.  I battle fear and doubt. However, I know you always come through. I know you will provide. “Now strengthen my hands.” In Jesus name. Amen.
