Nehemiah 10 - SOAP Meditation

Nehemiah 10 is a turning point in the worship of God in Jerusalem.  Now that the wall was built and the people didn't have to worry about their safety it was time to turn their attention to the true goal; worship of God. However, proper worship wasn't happening because there was a lack of resources.   This was a moment when the people needed to go All In together to achieve this next goal and it involved giving their finances to make it happen.  As we near the end of our All In Campaign I have been so inspired by the way our church has risen to meet this same challenge and I can't wait to celebrate together this Sunday how the Lord has moved our hearts.

My prayer in posting this is for you to be inspired to read and meditate on each chapter of the book of Nehemiah yourself!  I pray meditating on God's Word becomes an essential part of the life of every person at The Point Church! (Psalm 1:1-3).  Below is my SOAP meditation from the tenth chapter of the book of Nehemiah

S We will bring a tithe of our crops to the Levites… the Levites are to bring a tenth of the tithes up to the house of our God, to the storehouses of the treasury… we will not neglect the house of our God!

O After reading the Law in Chapter 9 the people commit to going all in for God. They promise to give sacrificially to the work of God and not neglect his place of worship.

A Will I allow the word of God, the promises of God and the character of God and the work of God move me to have an All In lifestyle where I work, give and live wherever God desires for me?

P Father, I pray that I would be an “all in” kind of person. I pray that you would lead our family to be all in with your kingdom. I pray you would lead our church to be all in people! Move us to be generous to you and help us accomplish all you have for us! In Jesus name. Amen.
