Nehemiah 13 - SOAP Meditation

Today we look at the last chapter of Nehemiah.  Nehemiah is at the end of this mighty quest from God.  He desires that he should not only begin well but also end well.  He wants to be used greatly by God and remembered with favor.  I pray we all share this same desire!

My prayer in posting this is for you to be inspired to read and meditate on each chapter of the book of Nehemiah yourself!  I pray meditating on God's Word becomes an essential part of the life of every person at The Point Church! (Psalm 1:1-3).  Below is my SOAP meditation from the thirteenth chapter of the book of Nehemiah

S "Remember me for this, o my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its service…. Remember me for this also, o my God and show mercy to me according to your great love! Remember me with favor, o my God."  Nehemiah 13:14, 22, 31

O Nehemiah repeats the phrase “remember me” three times in this final chapter and asks for God not to blot out his deeds, show him mercy, and show favor for his faithful service. Nehemiah was the perfect illustration of the good and faithful servant described by Jesus Christ

A This is my desire and prayer… to finish well. I desire to not only live a few years in God’s service but my entire life. I desire to not only do a few things well for God, but to be used to do something great for Him. I want to be able to say to God the words of Nehemiah, “remember me for this.”

P Father, I recognize that I am weak but you are strong. I can do nothing apart from you. I pray that you would use me as an instrument in your hands to do mighty works for your kingdom. Help me to serve you faithfully, finish well and then have you remember me. In Jesus name. Amen.
