Nehemiah 7 - SOAP Meditation

We believe God has given our church an audacious vision to plant 30 church in the Triangle in the next 30 years!  How will that be possible?  One key component is for the people of God to have the heart of a missionary for their community.  We currently have people at The Point who live all over the Triangle in towns like in Brier Creek, Morrisville, North Raleigh, Ganer, Sanford, Pittsboro, West Cary, Holly Springs and Fuquay.  We are praying for God to turn these families into an army of missionaries to reach their communities!  Also, we are praying that God would put it on the hearts of people who now live in Raleigh, Cary, and Apex to be willing to move to new communities to help start a new church that will point people to Jesus!  I hope God will use Nehemiah chapter 7 to help to kindle that missionary heart in all of us!

My prayer in posting this is for you to be inspired to read and meditate on each chapter of the book of Nehemiah yourself!  I pray meditating on God's Word becomes an essential part of the life of every person at The Point Church! (Psalm 1:1-3).  Below is my SOAP meditation from the seventh chapter of the book of Nehemiah

S "Now the city was large and spacious, but there were few people in it. And the houses had not yet been rebuilt. So my God put it in my heart to assemble the nobles."  Nehemiah 7:4

O The wall has been completed. Praise God! However, the city within is still a wreck and has almost no one living inside. So God put it on Nehemiah’s heart to gather the people and challenge them to move for a second time and settle in the towns and build houses!

A God has put it on our hearts to rebuild the kingdom of Christ in the triangle. For what God has put in our hearts to be a reality, people will have to move to towns across the triangle to settle down and build the kingdom.

P Father, I pray that you would continue to bring laborers for the harvest fields! Make us into a movement of missionaries to reach the Triangle.  Put great plans on our hearts and bring mighty people of God to accomplish the work. In Jesus name. Amen.
